Industry-Academia Interaction Session - Mr. Harish B, Properietor Premier Investments Pvt.Ltd., MOSL

A corporate interaction session on the topic 'Hedging through Derivatives' was organised by the finance forum students of Poonraprjna Institute of Management on 26th august 2022 at 10.00 am. Mr. Harish B proprietor of Premier Investments ltd., business associate of Motilal Oswal financial services ltd., was the resource person for the session. Mr. Harish B explained the concept of Hedging through practical examples to the students. Hedging attempts to eliminate the volatility associated with the price of an asset by taking offsetting positions in it. Hedging is only for risk management and not for making profits indicated Mr. Harish B in his lecture. The program was attended by all finance students of the institute. Dr. Bharath V, the director of the institute offered a floral welcome to the resource person. Interaction with the resourceperson was very useful to the students, as Mr. Harish B , was citing many cases from his coporate experience. Mr.Mayura Shetty, the secretary of the finance forum conducted the programme. Ms.Sameeksha proposed vote of thanks. The program was co-ordinated by Dr. Bharathi Karanth, the staff co-ordinator of the finance forum.

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Ashritha M S and Nagashree K taught action songs to the inmates, along with English alphabets, Kannada vocabulary, Numbers from one to twenty and days of a week. Anti-Ragging Cell conducts a skit on the menace of Ragging

 Anti Ragging cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management organised a Skit programme by the students on the theme of "Prevention of Ragging".  Five teams presented their idea about the problems involved and the ways to overcome ragging through their skit.  The programme was appreciated by the Director of PIM, Dr. Bharath V.  The Anti-ragging committee members along with all the faculty were present on the occasion.

VISIT TO OZANAM-OLD AGE HOME AT KALLIANPUR, UDUPI.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. At the end, the Superior of the Old age home thanked the students for the noble initiative and blessed the students for the great sacrifice.
