Classes move online at Poornaprajna Institute of Management

By the end of March 2020 more than 160 countries have partially or completely closed schools and universities, which affected over 1.5 billion learners and 60.2 million teachers worldwide. In the current circumstances, the education system faces an unprecedented challenge to organize quality distance learning for all in the shortest possible time. Poornaprajna Institute of Management has started embracing the virtual mode of education as the Covid-19 pandemic disrupts the education calendar and there is no certainty when things will become normal. In this connection, Google has enabled PIM to use advanced Hangouts to impart online teaching to students. The Sooner the Better- towerds Women Empowerment: Mrs. Renu Jayaram

PIM invited Mrs. Renu Jayaram, founder President POWER Udupi to interact with the PIM students and give them an insight about women empowerment. The programme was conducted on 12 th March 2020 at Poornaprajna Institute of Management. Mrs Renu Jayaram fascinated the students with her motivational talk which was appreciated by the students.   To begin with Dr. Krishna Kothai, Co-ordinator PCRD mentioned about the discrimination against a girl child. He also added that if given an opportunity woman will rise up and the coming years would be years of women.   Mrs. Renu Jayaram emphasized that women empowerment and women entrepreneurship begins with the support of men. She also mentioned that one should take decisions depending on passion and that no inferiority complex can stop anyone from growing or achieving big. She spoke about the four basic elements of women empowerment which includes political empowerment, legal empowerment, social empowerment and economic empowerment.

The credit goes to the efforts and enthusiasm of students who took active part in various placement activities that happened on and off campus. Placement Drive: Seamans Staffing Solutions Co Ltd

Seamans Staffing solutions - a reputed organisation which provides maritime education and helps its clients in staffing and has 3 branches across Karnataka visited the campus to recruit  students for various job roles. The CEO of Seamans Staffing Solutions Mr. Mahesh Renake, addressed the students on 6 March 2019 with a pre-placement talk and then along with his staff Mr.Prakash, the Hiring Manager and Mr. Chethan Shetty, the Marketing Executive sat down for the personal interview process. Students participated in great numbers with huge amount of zeal. Finally, 10 students were handed over appointment letters by the CEO. payscale - ranged between 3 lakhs p.a. to 6 lakhs p.a.

Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme at PIM

In association with Poornaprajna College, Udupi, Poornaprajna Post Graduate Studies in Commerce and Vijnan Foundation, an Entrepreneurship and Skill Development Programme was held at Prajna Hall of Poornaprajna Institute of Management on 8 March 2010.  Director of the Institute Dr. Bharath, Principal of Poornaprajna College Dr. Raghavendra A, Coordinator of PG Centre Dr. Venktramana Somayajee and founder of Vijnan Foundation Dr. Naveenchandra Shetty and CA Ronald Lobo were present on the occasion. All the students of PIM, Faculty and students of Poornaprajna College and Post Graduate Centre were present on this occasion. Mr. Vinayak Pai, Assistant Professor, PG Department of Commerce, PPC welcomed the guests and participants.
