Campus Placement Activity at Poornaprajna Institute of Management

Campus Placement activities were conducted at Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Udupi by the prestigious industrial organizations in the last two months. More than 60% of MBA students of the Institute have secured worthy placements so as to join these industries after the completion of their final semester examinations in May, 2015. Many more Campus Placement Activities are scheduled to held at PIM on 28 th of February and on different dates in the month of March. In the ‘Campus Interviews’ held at Poornaprajna Institute and in other Pool Campus Interviews, 97 Final Year Degree students of Poornaprajna College, Udupi are selected for Industrial Placements. The Final Year MBA students of PIM and Final Year Degree Students of PPC have secured placement in the companies such as Pest Control of India, Getit Info Services, Northern Trust Bank, TCS, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, Tally, Serco Global Services, Career Net, Bajaj Group of Companies etc. Under the guidance of Dr. M.R

Child trafficking is a serious problem that is prevalent in India.  It has been reported by the various dependable sources that majority of India’s trafficking problem is internal and those from the most disadvantaged social strata.  It is the children of the poor and most marginalised communities who are often trafficked to be forced into labour.  Lack of awareness among both the children and the parents results in traffickers taking advantage of the situations.  Keeping this problem in mind the Human Rights cell of PIM decided to create awareness among the children of Kuruba community, which happens to be one of the under privileged sections of the society about the child trafficking problem and its prevention methods.  Hence the programme was organised around the central theme “Child Trafficking and Prevention”.  Eighteen students of Human rights cell of PIM, designed the content of programme for the beneficiaries.  A drama was conducted by 5 students replicating the situation of c

Placement Cell of PIM organised two day's Placement training  for MBA students of the institute on 20th and 21st february 2015.  Mr.Ramani Venkat the Director of Varnaaz was the resource person for  the training programme of PIM.  The Director of PIM Dr.M.R.Hegde presided over the programme while Mr.Chandan Rao  the placement officer of PIM coordinated the programme.  The programme was attended by the second year MBA students of the institute . Ms. Namitha and Ms.Maithri conducted the formal stage programme.

CORPORATE INTERACTION SESSION WITH PRATEEK SETH , Z ONAL HEAD, KARNATAKA ZONE ,BAJAJ CAPITAL LIMITED  TWO DAY'S WORKSHOP  ON THE TOPIC   'PREPLACEMENT TALK AND GROUP DISCUSSION' DATE: 10TH AND 11TH FEBRUARY 2015  (IN ASSOCIATION WITH POORNAPRAJNA DEGREE COLLEGE) Poornaprajna Institute of Management along with Poornaprajna degree college conducted a corporate interaction session by inviting Prateek seth, the zonal head of Karnataka Bajaj capital and organising two day's workshop on the topic 'Preplacement talk and group discussion' on 10th and 11 february 2015 at Prajna Hall.  The director of PIM Dr.M.R.Hegde presided over the workshop which was attended by the MBA students of PIM along with Poornaprajna degree students.  The placement officer of PIM Mr.Chandan Rao and the placement officer of PPC Mr.Anand acharya are seen along with the corporate personnel.

Dr. Naveen Kumar K R, faculty Poornaprajna Institute of Management has delivered a talk on “Indian Capital Market and IPOs” on February 9 th , 2015 for the MBA students at SDM Post Graduate Centre for Management Studies and Research, Mangalore. He was also felicitated on this occasion by the Director Dr. Devaraj and other senior faculty members for having been awarded with Ph.D. by the Mangalore University, recently.

HR Club organizes a workshop on 'How to become a successful trainer?' R amani Venkat , Director of Varnaaz conducted a workshop on the topic 'How to become a successful trainer', on February 3rd 2015.  He addressed the students of both first and second year MBA along with the director and faculty members of the institution.  He quoted, that  T raining is a profession and it requires constant energy output. If you get tired quickly, become discouraged easily, or become frustrated if things do not go according to plan, training may not be a good career option. He further said that  Training is definitely not the same as teaching. While teaching has always been associated with the ‘knowledge component’ learnt through academic interventions, training focuses on the ‘application of knowledge’ through skill-based interventions and other intellectual, manual and hands-on ways of perfecting learning.
