Science of Divine Veena - Workshop Organised by Cultural Club of PIM

Poornaprajna Institute of Management was witness to a unique Veena Programme today by Vidushi Aruna Kumari, Manipal who along with her father conducted a workshop on the topic “The science of Divine Veena” at Prajna Hall of the institute.  Vidushi Aruna Kumari mesmerized the audience through her vocal singing coupled with blissful veena rendition.  Prof.Shama Bhat, the retired HOD of Dental Materials of KMC, father of Vidushi Aruna Kumari, explained the connection between Science and Veena.  The different forms of Veena and music instruments, the relation between the three laws and Veena, the connection between human body and the structure of Veena was brought out beautifully by both Prof.Shama Bhat and Vidushi Aruna Kumari through demonstration of the different notes of Veena.  It was a workshop in the real sense as every explanation through PPT was demonstrated practically on Veena by artist par excellence Vidushi Aruna Kumari.  Vidushi Aruna Kumari also gave a concert

Poornaprajna Institute of Management Alumni Association  organized  a programme "Alumni Talk" an interactive session with the alumni of the organization.  Mr. Girish Aithal  Nagoor,  Senior Manager at Vijaya Bank, who also happens to be the Vice President of Alumni Association of PIM addressed the students on the topic "Opportunities and Challenges in the Banking Sector" on 23rd February 2019 at Prajna Hall.  Girish Aithal belongs to the first batch of PIM who was a student during 2006-08.  Mr. Girish enlightened the various opportunities  existing  in the banking sector and also explained in detail the various challenges one has to face to achieve success.  The desire to excel is very important for  the success  he stated.  When it is coupled with the required  hard work,  banking jobs can lead to both professional and personal development.  He brought out the differences between the public sector and private sector banks and stated that those who have the

A VISIT TO HERITAGE MUSEUM AND FINANCIAL RESEARCH CENTRE- CORPORATION ORGANISED BY FINANCE FORUM OF PIM

A visit of Heritage Museum and Financial Research Centre, of Corporation Bank, was organized by the Finance Forum of PIM on 22 nd Friday 2019.  The 35 MBA students along with the Director Dr.Bharath V, faculty members Dr. Naveen Kumar KR and Dr.Bharathi Karanth visited the museum with the objective of studying the history of coinage, notes and generally about the currencies used at different points of time in the history all over the world. The Corporation Bank manager M.K.Krishnayya brought out in detail the history of currencies used at different points of time, the meaning and relevance of several symbols, numbers and letters on the coins and notes. Craft Studio conducted at Poornaprajna Institute of Management

The HR Club of Poornaprajna Institute of Management ‘ETICA’ conducted a competition ‘Craft Studio’ for the students of I  and II  Year MBA. The aim of the event was to bring awareness among the students towards Healthy and eco-friendly practices and stimulate creativity and innovation. In his opening comments the Chief Guest Dr. Krishna Kothai said that water will be a highly precious resource in the near future and how it is been misused and badly managed. He also said that the youth should have more sensitivity towards nature and natural resources as one day, we may not find them around us. In his speech he stressed on the importance of  Effective water management practices.  This was followed by the announcing of rules on the theme ‘Eco friendly HR practices.' Soon after this basic materials were handed over to all the participants which included both I  and II  year MBA who participated with wholesome energy and came out with creative and innovative ide
