Poornaprajna Institute of Management

The Placement Cell of PIM ‘ Poornakash ’ in association with IQAC has organised a ‘Two Days Career Guidance Programme’ on 26th and 27th of August 2021 at Prajna Hall of the Institute. The final year degree students of Commerce and Management from Poornaprajna College, Udupi participated in the programme. The programme was conducted in three separate sessions. Director of Institute Dr. Bharath V, IQAC coordinator Dr. Naveen Kumar K R, Placement Officer and coordinator of Placement Cell Prof. Shivanand M Bhadarkar and senior faculty member Prof. Sujatha G L were the resource persons for different sessions during the two days programme. Around 200 students participated in the programme. All the faculty members of the Institute were present during all the sessions. The faculty members clarified different doubts raised by the students. Office manager Mr. Shrihari C D made necessary arrangements for the smooth conduct of the programme.

PCRD/PIM in association with PPC,Udupi organised a unique cultural programme "VAGVAIBHAVAM" on 25th August 2021 at Mini auditorium,PPC. H.H Shri Vishwapriya theertha Swamiji inaugurated the programme. coordinator of PCRD, Dr. Krishna Kothai delivered key note adress and highlighted the importance of language in the art of speaking. artists from PIM & PPC exhibited their cultural talents. Office Manager of PIM Mr.Shrihari played flute;Deeksha and prathibha, faculty from PPC sang classical & emotional songs. National Librarians’ Day is observed on 12 August every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Padmashri Dr S. R. Ranganathan (1892-1972), who is considered as father of library science in India. Dr. Ranganathan dedicated his entire life to library profession in India leaving a rich legacy. On 129th birth anniversary of Dr. S. R. Ranganathan, PIM Library celebrated National Librarian’s Day on 12th August 2021. The programme commenced with lighting of the lamp by the chief Guest Dr. Vinay Kumar Librarian, Poornaprajna College, Udupi. In his speech he stressed on the second law of library science i.e. “Every Reader His/hers Book” which means “books are for use of all” or “books for all”. It speaks of democratization of the library where every reader has the equal right to get the book of his/her interest. Finance Forum of PIM organised corporate interaction session on the topic " Basics of Financial Planning and Investment Management" on 6th August 2021 at Prajna Hall . Mr. Harish B the proprietor of Premier Investments ltd. Udupi, the Business Associate of Motilal Oswal Financial Services Limited was the resource person for the session. Mr. Harish B enlightened the students about the importance of financial planning and investment management among the students through practical examples. He explained the different avenues of investment, the return received by investing in different avenues, comparison of the different avenues on the basis of return, liquidity, risk involved etc. He explained in detail the importance of compounding interest component , Rule of 72 , importance of retirement planning, precautions to be taken while investing in stock market etc. He advised the students to invest early and invest for long term and to stay away from trading.
