Industry-Academia Interface- visit to Big Bazaar Udupi

In the wake of Industry-Academia interface and employability enablement the IQAC of Poornaprajna Institute of Management and Poornakash-The placement and skill development cell jointly organized facility visit to Big Bazaar Udupi on 8th January 2022.





The final year MBA students of Finance and Marketing domain actively participated and were very keen in understanding the functioning of the retail giant from Future Group India.

The students were addressed by the Manager HR- Mr. Ranjith about the various aspects of human resource management and development. The operations manager Mr. Nagaraja P. also interacted with the students and gave inputs about store maintenance, finance and operations.


 It was indeed a delight when the Store Manager Raghavendra K. and FBB manager Mr. Mehaboob also joined the wagon despite of their busy schedule and gladly interacted with the students and also willingly answered the questions and clarified the doubts about how a retail store is run and managed especially during testing times like Covid-19 pandemic.  





The Staff and Management of PIM are extremely grateful to Mr. Ranjith, the store HR manager who was instrumental for this visit.





The student class representatives Mr. Naveen Bhat and Ms. Sameeksha M. Prabhu along with the placement cell coordinators took charge of the visit and were responsible for its smooth execution. The faculty Placement Coordinator Mr. Shivanand M. Bhandarkar was present during the visit.

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Ashritha M S and Nagashree K taught action songs to the inmates, along with English alphabets, Kannada vocabulary, Numbers from one to twenty and days of a week. Inmates danced for the song “Bumbum Bhole”

Anti-Ragging Cell conducts a skit on the menace of Ragging

 Anti Ragging cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management organised a Skit programme by the students on the theme of "Prevention of Ragging".  Five teams presented their idea about the problems involved and the ways to overcome ragging through their skit.  The programme was appreciated by the Director of PIM, Dr. Bharath V.  The Anti-ragging committee members along with all the faculty were present on the occasion.

VISIT TO OZANAM-OLD AGE HOME AT KALLIANPUR, UDUPI.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. At the end, the Superior of the Old age home thanked the students for the noble initiative and blessed the students for the great sacrifice.
