International Women's Day Celebration at PIM

                          INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY CELEBRATION 2021

International Women’s Day 2021 was celebrated on 8th and 9th March at Poornaprajna Institute of Management. Various competitions were conducted for female students on 8th march. On 9th March Dr. Sukanya Mary J, Principal, Sri Poornaprajna Evening College Udupi, Mrs. Prathima Baliga, Principal, Poornaprajna P U College, Udupi and Dr. Krishna Kothai, Co-ordinator, Poornaprajna  Centre for Research and Development addressed the students.  Speaking on the occasion Dr. Krishna Kothai highlighted how gender equality is bestowed by nature in the form of male-female gender ratio, which is today manipulated by humans leading to dire consequences. He opined that men have to take up the challenge of accepting equality of women. Dr. Sukanya Mary spoke about importance given to females in ancient philosophies quoting the names of great philosophers like Atreyi, Gargi, Ubhaya Bharati and Maitreyi. She stressed that financial independence is needed for a women. Another speaker Mrs. Prathima Baliga stressed on the importance given to women in religious ceremonies and requested the female audience to retain the traditional values of women. Dr. Bharath V, Director of the Institute, in his presidential remarks spoke on the theme of International Women’s Day 2021 i.e. “Choose to Challenge”.

Prizes were the distributed to the winners of the completions held. Mrs. Sujatha, Faculty coordinator of women empowerment cell welcomed the gathering. Ms. Shaswathi of 2nd MBA proposed vote of thanks. Ms. Rifa of 2nd MBA was the master of ceremony for the program.

Staff, both teaching and non-teaching and students of 1st and 2nd MBA attended the program.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. At the end, the Superior of the Old age home thanked the students for the noble initiative and blessed the students for the great sacrifice. HALF DAY VISIT TO “MAMATHEYA THOTTILU”

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Industrial Visit to Medium & Scale Industries of Udupi District 2019

An Industrial Visit was organized for the students of III semester of Poornaprajna Institute of Management on 07 th December 2019 to the Medium and Small Scale Industries of the Udupi district.   First and foremost, the students visited the Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd, located in Havanje where the students witnessed an elaborate process of milk processing. The hi-tech production was explained very patiently by Mr Sadananda, the supervisor of the plant, who took the students across the newly inaugurated production unit. He elaborately provided information about the collection, heating, pasteurizing, maintenance, packing and finally distribution of the milk and the milk products. The students were also shown the latest automated technology which required minimum human intervention for milk processing.
