POORNAPRAJNA -ROTARY CLUB, MANIPAL CENTRE FOR SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT

 


District Governor of Rotary Club, Rtn. Rajaram Bhat inaugurated the Poornaprjna –Rotary Club Manipal, Centre for Social Empowerment, on 23rd March 2021, Tuesday at Prajna Hall of Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Udupi.  Poornaprajna-Rotary club, Manipal Centre for Social Empowerment, is the result of a joint effort of PCRD, the research wing of Poornaprajna Institute of Management and Rotary Club, Manipal.

The formal beginning of the stage programme 

Rtn. Bhat expressing his best wishes on this occasion hoped that the centre would provide special guidance and information to the needed sections of the society and thereby would contribute to social empowerment. 

Rtn. Prashanth Hegde, President of Rotary Club, Manipal explained the objectives and goals of the Rotary club and also the vision of Rotary club, Manipal for the empowerment of the society as a whole.  He thanked His Holiness Shri Shri Vishwapriya Theertha Swamiji, the President of Admar Mutt Education Council, for the cooperation, extended in respect of establishing the Centre.

Emeritus Professor, Dr. Krishna Kothai, the co-ordinator of PCRD, who will be the director of the newly established Centre for Social Empowerment explained the futuristic vision and plans of the Centre for achieving its ultimate objectives.

Rtn. Renu Jayaram respectfully reminisced the services and contributions of Late Rtn. H.S.N. Rao. As a mark of respect to Late Rtn. HSN Rao, his daughter   Rtn. Dr. Shubha H.S administered the digital inauguration of the centre.

Dr.G.S.Chandrashekar, the honorary secretary of the governing council of Poornaprajna Institute of Management and the Medical Director of Adarsha Hospital was the chief guest on this auspicious occasion.  In his speech, Dr Chandrashekar stated that PIM has given special importance to the research and extension programs which led to PIM receiving A+ by the recently concluded accreditation process by the NAAC.  He expressed thankfulness to Rotary club, Manipal for contributing to the establishment of the centre.

Rtn. Amith Aravind thanked the donors and the District Governor of the Rotary club honoured the donors for their contributions made in different forms for societal welfare. 

Dr Bharath V, the Director of Poornaprajna Institute of Management welcomed the gathering, while Dr. Naveen Kumar KR proposed a formal vote of thanks.  

  Ms Sameeksha of 1st year MBA was the master of ceremony of the programme. Ms Anusha, Ms Panchami, Ms.Shravya, Ms Pallavi rendered invocation.  Students of Poornaprajna Institute of Management took a special interest in organising the programme.  Ms. Divya Nayak, Ms.shravya, Ms. Soumya, Ms.Shreelekha, Ms.Nidhita, ,Ms.Sandhya, Mr Naveen Bhat, Mr Aditya Nayak, Ms. Bhavya, Mr.Ratish, , Mr. Vidya Bhushan, Mr.Deepak Patkar, Mr.suraj, Mr Shreesha, Mr Mayur, Mr Shreyank, Mr Darshan, Mr Karthik, Mr Pawan, Mr Subrahmanya were the student volunteers who took an active part in organizing and coordinating the programme. 

The program was attended by members of Rotary Club, Manipal, Principals of sister concerns of Poornaprajna Institute of Management, faculty members and students of both 1st and 2nd year MBA of PIM.
