Alumni Talk - Challenges , Opportunities and Work Culture in Gulf and Middle East Countries by Mr. Iston Ferrao and Ms. Jezel D'souza

 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, Alumni Association organised an Alumni Talk - an interactive session with the present students of MBA on the Topic Challenges, Opportunities and Work culture in Gulf and Middle East Countries on 28th December 2020.  Mr. Iston Ferrao and Ms. Jezel D'souza of 2016-18 batch students, addressed the present students of PIM and enlightened the present students about the current scenario in the Gulf Countries . 

Ms. Jezel D'souza who works as a HR Manager at Dubai spoke about the work culture in the gulf and other countries.  She shared her job experiences with the present batch of students.  She stated that managing people from heterogeneous background was a real challenge which she had to face and she has been able to manage effectively given the current scenario.  She said, in the international arena , she had to manage people belonging to different nations like Philippines, Pakistan, India, Singapore etc .  She cherished her memories as a financial management specialisation student of PIM and stated that the knowledge she gained in PIM was invaluable and has helped her in her career.  

Mr. Iston Ferrao , who works as the Finance Manager at Qatar, reminisced his memories of PIM.  He motivated the students to organise programms, have fun and enjoy their academic life and at the same time develop their skill sets to make themselves fit for the corporate world.  

Dr. Bharathi Karanth , staff in charge of Alumni Association of PIM, introduced both the alumni members to the present batch of students.  She stated that Mr. Iston Ferrao was the best outgoing student of batch 2016-18, was an excellent organiser of programmes with cent percent perfection.  He was not only academically brilliant, but had excellent planning and execution ideas.  Ms. Jezel D'souza of the same batch too was a very active students, was a sports person and and very studious girl participating and organising many programmes for the institute.  

Students of 2016-18 batch were very interested in organising programmes, developing their capabilities and had a lot of love towards their faculties and the institution and they are the models worth emulating  stated Dr. Bharath V, Director of Poornaprajna Institute of Management , Udupi

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Ashritha M S and Nagashree K taught action songs to the inmates, along with English alphabets, Kannada vocabulary, Numbers from one to twenty and days of a week. Inmates danced for the song “Bumbum Bhole”

Anti-Ragging Cell conducts a skit on the menace of Ragging

 Anti Ragging cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management organised a Skit programme by the students on the theme of "Prevention of Ragging".  Five teams presented their idea about the problems involved and the ways to overcome ragging through their skit.  The programme was appreciated by the Director of PIM, Dr. Bharath V.  The Anti-ragging committee members along with all the faculty were present on the occasion.

VISIT TO OZANAM-OLD AGE HOME AT KALLIANPUR, UDUPI.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. At the end, the Superior of the Old age home thanked the students for the noble initiative and blessed the students for the great sacrifice.
