"Earn While You Learn” By Mr B.H. Thodinnaya, Senior Manager at Reliance Jio Centre

On October 24th 2019, the Placement Cell “Poornakash” of Poornaprajna Institute of Management, organized a program where a guest lecture was delivered by Mr. B. H. Thodinnaya on the topic of “Earn while you learn”. The session began with a welcome speech given by Rhea Soans of 2nd year MBA.

Mr. B. H. Thodinnaya who is currently working as a Senior Manager with Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. at Jio Centre in Mangalore. He is a MBA from Indian Institute of Management (IIMs), Kolkata. He has also served at a managerial position in Bharti Airtel Ltd. He is also an entrepreneur who owns and runs a dairy enterprise in Pakshikere near Mulki.   Mr B. H. Thodinnaya held this session with the purpose of sharing with students an opportunity where they could work part-time for Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. He came with an objective to give all the students an opportunity to gain exposure to the professional world which will give them an edge over other candidates during job interviews.

Mr. B. H. Thodinnaya  also explained the importance of working part time to give the students hands on experience and confidence which would thereby prepare them better for taking up jobs in the future and also mentioned that he would be more than happy to consider such students for future requirements in Reliance Industries. The session concluded with the vote of thanks delivered by Sharon Amanna of 2nd year MBA. The Director of PIM Dr. Bharat V., Dean Dr. Sureshramana Mayya and Dr. Krishna Kothai, Professor Emeritus and Head of PCRD along with students of first and second-year MBA, teaching and non-teaching staff were present during the session.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. HALF DAY VISIT TO “MAMATHEYA THOTTILU”

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Industrial Visit to Medium & Scale Industries of Udupi District 2019

An Industrial Visit was organized for the students of III semester of Poornaprajna Institute of Management on 07 th December 2019 to the Medium and Small Scale Industries of the Udupi district.   First and foremost, the students visited the Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd, located in Havanje where the students witnessed an elaborate process of milk processing. The hi-tech production was explained very patiently by Mr Sadananda, the supervisor of the plant, who took the students across the newly inaugurated production unit. He elaborately provided information about the collection, heating, pasteurizing, maintenance, packing and finally distribution of the milk and the milk products. The students were also shown the latest automated technology which required minimum human intervention for milk processing.
