Deepavali Celebration at PIM
Diwali is the “Festival of Lights” and
one of the most festive and beautiful times of the year. Diwali literally means
a "Row of Lights." It is a time when Indians all over the world
rejoice.
Celebrated on the 13th/14th day in the
dark half of Kartik (October - November), Diwali it is also known as Krishna
Chaturdashi. It is the darkest night of the darkest period, yet it is a
celebration of light. Diwali is also heralded as the triumph of good over evil.
Diwali, the festival of
colours of lights, was celebrated 26th October, a day earlier with
great pomp and show by PIM Students at Prajna Hall. The festival was celebrated
by students of PIM by organizing the cultural competition. A total of 8 teams
participated in the competition. Besides the participants, the college faculty staff
also took the great initiative in glorifying programme with their presence.
PIM provided a platform
for all students to showcase their talents and prepare them to light the
future. On the auspicious festival of Diwali, our students illuminated the campus
through the creation of dazzling Rangolis, the picturesque designing of Green
Greeting Cards, along with various decorative designs which indulged students
in the true festive atmosphere.
Dr. Bharathi Karanth,
Associate Professor and Coordinator of Cultural Club of PIM coordinated the
programme. Miss Sahana Rai and Miss Jacqueline Nikitha, PIM Alumni were the
