IQAC Programme: Workshop on IPRS by Dr.Ranjitha K.R. at Poornaprajna Institute of Management

Dr Ranjitha K.R. Asistant Professor at Department of Commerce, Manipal Academy of Higher Education conducted a workshop on 'Intellectual Property Rights' at Poornaprajna Institute of Management at Prajna Hall on 3rd November 2018.  Dr.Ranjitha gave a brief overview of the different dimensions of IPRS with adequate examples.  Copyrights, Patents, Trademarks, industrial designs their differences were discussed at length by the resource person.  Geographical indicators, Copyrights Act 1957, Patents Act 1970, Designs Act 200, Trademarks act 99, Geographical indicators of Goods (Regulations and Protection) Act 1999, Industrial designs Act etc.  were explained by the resource person. 

The programme was presided over by the director of the institution Dr.Bharath V. Dean Sureshramana Mayya, the Coordinator of the programme Dr Bharathi Karanth and all other faculty members of the institution were present on occasion.  The first and second-year MBA students involved in an active discussion on IPRS.  Mr Sharan Shetty welcomed the gathering and gave a brief introduction of the chief guest, Mr.Sheik Afrid proposed a vote of thanks while Mr Renol Fernandez conducted the programme.

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Ashritha M S and Nagashree K taught action songs to the inmates, along with English alphabets, Kannada vocabulary, Numbers from one to twenty and days of a week. Inmates danced for the song “Bumbum Bhole”

Anti-Ragging Cell conducts a skit on the menace of Ragging

 Anti Ragging cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management organised a Skit programme by the students on the theme of "Prevention of Ragging".  Five teams presented their idea about the problems involved and the ways to overcome ragging through their skit.  The programme was appreciated by the Director of PIM, Dr. Bharath V.  The Anti-ragging committee members along with all the faculty were present on the occasion.

VISIT TO OZANAM-OLD AGE HOME AT KALLIANPUR, UDUPI.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. At the end, the Superior of the Old age home thanked the students for the noble initiative and blessed the students for the great sacrifice.
