Kai stands for change. Zen stands for better.  Kaizen stands for change for the better or continuous improvement.  Kaizen works on the notion that every individual and their ideas are an asset and it works in an environment where there is mutual respect and positive recognition amongst the people working and where the people are willing to voice their suggestions.  It is essential to make a root cause analysis which involves asking why five times minimum to a problem and having a fishbone technique which shows the diagrammatic representation of the cause and effects of a particular problem at hand.  Kaizen philosophy stresses on the need to do better, make it better, improve it even if it is broken because in case we do not attempt to refine , we would not be able to compete with those who do it said Mr.Ananthpadmakar Ayya, the former CEO of Asian Paints (international) at Poornaprajna Institute of Management .  He was addressing the MBA students of PIM on the topic “ Dimensions of Total Quality Management – KAIZEN”.  Mr.AK Ayya gave the practical applications of KAIZEN in industries with number of live examples.  This kind of corporate interaction session which involves direct interaction with the seasoned corporates will empower the students and will help them to adapt themselves to the corporate world said Dr.Sureshramana Mayya , the Dean of Poornaprajna Institute of Management.  The programme organized by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell of PIM, was presided over by the director of the institution Dr. Bharath V and was attended by all the faculty members of the institution.  The corporate interactions session was coordinated by  Mrs.Alvina Andrade, Ms.Annapoorna , Mr.Adarsh shetty and Mr.Akshay , the second  year MBA students of PIM. 


ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಯೋಚನಾ ಪದ್ದತಿಯಿಂದ ಉತ್ತಮ ಜೀವನ ಶೈಲಿಯ ಸಾಧ್ಯತೆ: ಶ್ರೀ ಎ.ಕೆ.ಅಯ್ಯ

ಕೈಜೆನ್ ಅಂದರೆ ನಿರಂತರ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಯನ್ನು ಸೂಚಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.  ಯಾವ ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿ ಹಾಗು ಅವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಆಸ್ತಿಯಾಗಿ ಪರಿಗಣಿಸಲಾಗುತ್ತದೆಯೋ, ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಪರಸ್ಪರ ಗೌರವ ಹಾಗು ಸಕಾರಾತ್ಮಕ ಗುರುತಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಇದೆಯೋ, ಮತ್ತು ಎಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ತಮ್ಮ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯಗಳನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸಲು ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರರಿರುತ್ತಾರೆಯೋ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕೈಜೆನ್ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಿಸುತ್ತದೆ.  ಒಂದು ಸಮಸ್ಯೆಯ ನಿರ್ಧಿಷ್ಟ ಕಾರಣಗಳು ಹಾಗು ಪರಿಣಾಮಗಳನ್ನು  ಗುರುತಿಸುವಿಕೆ ಮತ್ತು ರೇಖಾಚಿತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ಅದನ್ನು ವ್ಯಕ್ತಪಡಿಸುವ ಫಿಶ್ಬೊನ್ ತಂತ್ರಗಾರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಬೇಕಾದುದು ಇಂದಿನ ವ್ಯವಹಾರ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಅತ್ಯಗತ್ಯ. ಕೈಜೆನ್ ತತ್ವವು ನಿರಂತರ ಸುಧಾರಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಬೆಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತದೆಯಲ್ಲದೆ, ಒಂದು ವೇಳೆ ಮಾಡದೇ ಇದ್ದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರತಿಸ್ಪರ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬ ಎಚ್ಚರಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ .  ಆದ್ದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬರೂ ಉಪಯುಕ್ತ ಯೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವ ಪದ್ದತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೆಳೆಸಿದರೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಜೀವನಶೈಲಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಬಹುದು ಎಂದು ಏಶಿಯನ್ ಪೇಂಟ್ಸ್ ನ ನಿವೃತ್ತ ಕಾರ್ಯನಿರ್ವಹಣಾಧಿಕಾರಿ  ಶ್ರೀ ಎ.ಕೆ. ಅಯ್ಯ ಅವರು ಪೂರ್ಣಪ್ರಜ್ಞ ಇನ್ಸ್ಟಿಟ್ಯೂಟ್ ಓಫ್ ಮಾನೇಜ್ಮೆಂಟಿನ  ಆಂತರಿಕ ಗುಣಮಟ್ಟ ಭದ್ರತಾ ಘಟಕದ ವತಿಯಿಂದ ಆಯೋಜಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮದಲ್ಲಿ "ಟೋಟಲ್ ಕ್ವಾಲಿಟಿ ಮಾನೇಜ್ಮೆಂಟಿನ  ಆಯಾಮಗಳು ಹಾಗು ಕೈಜೆನ್" ಎಂಬ ವಿಷಯದ ಮೇಲೆ ಎಂಬಿಎ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳನ್ನುದ್ದೇಶಿಸಿ ಮಾತನಾಡುತಿದ್ದರು. 
ಈ ರೀತಿಯ ಸಂವಹನದಿಂದ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಉತ್ತಮ ಕಾರ್ಪೊರೇಟ್ ತೆರೆತವಿರುವುದಲ್ಲದೆ ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಾವು ಸಾಂಸ್ಥಿಕ ಜಗತ್ತಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊಂದಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಸಹಾಯ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂದು ಪಿ ಐ ಎಂ ನ ಡೀನ್ ಡಾ. ಸುರೇಶ್ರಮಣ ಮಯ್ಯರು ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ ಪಟ್ಟರು.  ಸಂಸ್ಥೆಯ ನಿರ್ದೇಶಕರಾದ ಡಾ.ಭರತ್ ವಿ ಅವರು ಅಧ್ಯಕ್ಷತೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಎಂಬಿಎ ವಿದ್ಯಾರ್ಥಿಗಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಅಲ್ವಿನ ಅಂದ್ರಾದೆ, ಕುಮಾರಿ ಅನ್ನಪೂರ್ಣ, ಆದರ್ಶ ಶೆಟ್ಟಿ ಹಾಗು ಅಕ್ಷಯ್ ನಡೆಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. HALF DAY VISIT TO “MAMATHEYA THOTTILU”

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Industrial Visit to Medium & Scale Industries of Udupi District 2019

An Industrial Visit was organized for the students of III semester of Poornaprajna Institute of Management on 07 th December 2019 to the Medium and Small Scale Industries of the Udupi district.   First and foremost, the students visited the Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd, located in Havanje where the students witnessed an elaborate process of milk processing. The hi-tech production was explained very patiently by Mr Sadananda, the supervisor of the plant, who took the students across the newly inaugurated production unit. He elaborately provided information about the collection, heating, pasteurizing, maintenance, packing and finally distribution of the milk and the milk products. The students were also shown the latest automated technology which required minimum human intervention for milk processing.
