Second Preliminary Alumni meet held at PIM on 16th September 2018

The organizing committee of the PIM alumni association met once again at PIM on 16th September 2018 at 11.00 a.m.  PIM’s doors were kept open at 9.30 am, for the alumni on Sunday to facilitate the ‘meeting of minds’towards organizing the alumni meet.  The President of the alumni association Mr. Narasimha S.S. was the first one to arrive at PIM closely followed by Mr. Girish Aithal Nagoor, the Vice President of the alumni association.  Soon he was joined by Mr. Guruprasad who also happens to be the first batch alumnus of PIM joined them at the institution.  Soon they were joined by Mrs. Diana saldanha , the secretary , Umesh Badhya the joint secretary and Mr. Sandesh Kumar of the first batch.  Srikanth , Vinay, sandesh Acharya , Shruthi of 7th batch , Madhulika , of 2nd batch , Vinutha Shetty of 4th batch, Sanjana Ninjoor   and Rahul of 10th batch and Nishanth D’souza of 11th batch .  They were are all greeted by Mrs. Bharathi Karanth , the faculty coordinator of alumni association. 

Mr.Girish Aithal Nagoor initiated and guided the discussion which was informally organized.  All the students gave suggestions about organizing the alumni meet on 23rd.  The discussion involved issues like stage setting, programme plans by the different batches etc.  The duties were happily taken over by students of different batches.  Ms.Sanjana Ninjoor took up the task of coordinating the programme on next Sunday by accepting to become the ‘Master of Ceremony’.  It was decided that the Working president of alumni association Mr.Narasimha S.S will welcome the gathering, Mrs. Diana Saldanha, secretary of the alumni association will give a brief report of the activities of the alumni association in the past two years, and Mr. Girish Aithal Nagoor , the Vice president of the alumni association will propose the vote of thanks.   A brief sketch of the schedule of the different programmes was discussed by the members of the alumni association.  

Dr.M.R.Hegde, the former director of PIM and Dr. Bharath V joined the discussions of the students at 12.00 p.m. Dr. M.R.Hegde, appraised the students of the importance of alumni involvement in institutions activities and requested the students to make wholehearted contributions towards the development of the institution.  Dr. Bharath V also explained the procedural requirements of NAAC and requested the students to participate in full strength.  The discussions were followed by refreshments served by Mrs.Renuka and Mr.Prabhakar the attenders of the institution. 

Dr.Bharathi Karanth coordinated the entire programme.

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Ashritha M S and Nagashree K taught action songs to the inmates, along with English alphabets, Kannada vocabulary, Numbers from one to twenty and days of a week. Inmates danced for the song “Bumbum Bhole”

Anti-Ragging Cell conducts a skit on the menace of Ragging

 Anti Ragging cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management organised a Skit programme by the students on the theme of "Prevention of Ragging".  Five teams presented their idea about the problems involved and the ways to overcome ragging through their skit.  The programme was appreciated by the Director of PIM, Dr. Bharath V.  The Anti-ragging committee members along with all the faculty were present on the occasion.

VISIT TO OZANAM-OLD AGE HOME AT KALLIANPUR, UDUPI.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. At the end, the Superior of the Old age home thanked the students for the noble initiative and blessed the students for the great sacrifice.
