Visit to Manipal Technologies Limited, Manipal by the HR Club of Poornaprajna Institute of Management

           The HR Club of Poornaprajna Institute of Management accompanied by the faculty member- Mr.Santhosh Prabhu and Mr.Ashwin Correa visited Manipal Technologies Limited on 05th March, 2018. The main objective of the industrial visit was to enhance the practical stimulation and to provide an overview on the  activities of the industry.


At Manipal Technologies Limited,  the introductory session was conducted by Ms Vidya Shenoy, Recruitment Head- MTL. As a part of this session students were asked to introduce themselves which was followed by a PowerPoint presentation about MTL in brief.



Manipal technologies Limited(MTL) based in Manipal was started in 1941 as Manipal power press offering print service to banks. Over the year MTL has grown as end to end secure print service provider offering varied services such as security printing, book printing, pre-media service, banking cards, smart cards, card management service, outsourced print management service, packaging solution, payment system, examination solutions etc. and is specialized in offering solution to banking, publishing, government, telecom, retail, pharmacy, FMCG etc. MTL is now serving units in all metro cities in India, Kenya, Nigeria and Germany. With their advanced colour management system, bio-tech machinery and highly skilled workforce they aim to be the ideal partner to companies’ brand communications requirements. 



      This was followed with an interactive session, where student's questions related to activities of various departments were answered by her. Mr. Rohit, HR executive took a brief session to explain the role of HR departments during mergers and acquisitions and which was informative.  
     
      In order to correlate the information with the practicality of the industry, Mrs Shubha-HR executive, took the students to the production area where the printing activities are concentrated.She provided the students with the useful information regarding the actual working of the industry and printing process.

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Ashritha M S and Nagashree K taught action songs to the inmates, along with English alphabets, Kannada vocabulary, Numbers from one to twenty and days of a week. Inmates danced for the song “Bumbum Bhole”

Anti-Ragging Cell conducts a skit on the menace of Ragging

 Anti Ragging cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management organised a Skit programme by the students on the theme of "Prevention of Ragging".  Five teams presented their idea about the problems involved and the ways to overcome ragging through their skit.  The programme was appreciated by the Director of PIM, Dr. Bharath V.  The Anti-ragging committee members along with all the faculty were present on the occasion.

VISIT TO OZANAM-OLD AGE HOME AT KALLIANPUR, UDUPI.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. At the end, the Superior of the Old age home thanked the students for the noble initiative and blessed the students for the great sacrifice.
