Extension Activity of Placement Cell for Children of Kuruba Community in associaiton with Udupi Jilla Kanakadasa Seva Samaja Regd. Udupi

Group discussions are an important ingredient for assessing the capabilities , competencies of the job aspirants and is an important device to promote group behaviour.  With Group discussions , students not only learn the ways of communicating to each other, the ability to listen, tolerate and understand others behaviour and views , it will also increase their ability to participate effectively in such discussions thereby making themselves the best candidates for different positions in their lives.  Keeping this in mind the placement cell of PIM conducted the activity on Group Discussions for the children of Kuruba Community on  15/03/2018.  14 students of PIM designed the programme for the benefit of the school children. 
The impact on beneficiaries:
·          Enhance Critical Thinking
·          Help with Understanding the dos and don’ts of group discussions
·         Improve Communication Skills
·          Improve Interest in team work
The impact on our students
·         Understanding the value of resources and using them optimally
·         Brain storming to search for topics to be allotted for discussion
·         The need to arranging the venue to create group discussion atmosphere

  On 20-03-2021 Poornaprajna Institute of Management, HR Forum ETICA, and IQAC jointly organized a half-day visit to 'Mamatheya Thottilu'. 13 students from HR specialization along with the faculty in-charge Prof. Joe Ashwin Correa visited the orphanage near Santhekatte,Udupi.  Ashritha M S hosted the program.  The program began with the self-introduction of the students, which was followed by the inmates also introducing themselves by telling their names, their class, their favorite food, favorite color, the name of their best friends, and the ambitions of their life.  Project coordinator Ms. Marina Elizabeth introduced the staff members Rekha, Prema, Jayanthi and others to the gathering. Inmates showcased their talent by singing “Needu Shiva Needadiru Shiva” spiritual song. Ashritha M S and Nagashree K taught action songs to the inmates, along with English alphabets, Kannada vocabulary, Numbers from one to twenty and days of a week. Anti-Ragging Cell conducts a skit on the menace of Ragging

 Anti Ragging cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management organised a Skit programme by the students on the theme of "Prevention of Ragging".  Five teams presented their idea about the problems involved and the ways to overcome ragging through their skit.  The programme was appreciated by the Director of PIM, Dr. Bharath V.  The Anti-ragging committee members along with all the faculty were present on the occasion.

VISIT TO OZANAM-OLD AGE HOME AT KALLIANPUR, UDUPI.

The HR forum of Poornaprajna Institute of Management visited the old age nursing home- OZANAM at Kallianpur, Udupi on 28 th September 2018. During the visit the 12 students from HR specialisation along with the faculty in-charge Mr.Joe Ashwin Correa interacted with the elderly, seeking information regarding their good old days and about their present-day to day routine. Some of the elderly also shared their experiences with the students individually which was a good experience. The students also conducted spot games and activities to bring in some smiles on the old and tired faces. The inmates participated wholeheartedly and showed an excellent sportive spirit during these 2 hours. At the end, the Superior of the Old age home thanked the students for the noble initiative and blessed the students for the great sacrifice.
