Human Rights cell of PIM in association with Udupi Zilla Kanakadasa Seva Samaja organised an extension programme on the theme “child Labour and Prevention on 8 th  December 2015 for the benefit of children of Kuruba community.    It is known that India is the home to the largest number of child labourers in the world.    Poverty and lack of social security were the main reasons behind child labour.    As Kuruba community is one of the under privileged sections of the society the Human rights cell decided to enlighten the students of Kuruba community about this problem of child labour and its prevention.    Students conducted games , made presentations , showed the different ways of preventing child labour.    18 students of PIM were actively involved in designing and administering the programs to students.  

IPR cell of PIM under IQAC organized a workshop on ' An overall framework of IPRs'. Dr. Krishna Kothai well-known researcher and Professor at Azim Premji University  was the resource person. He addressed and enlightened the students in the areas of new dimensions of intellectual property. Students actively participated and interacted with the speaker. Dr. M. R Hegde, the Director of PIM  presided the programme. MBA Student Divya welcomed the gathering, MBA student Ravanitha delivered a vote of thanks and Amulya Shetty coordinated the workshop.

A Corporate interaction on the topic " Lets talk telecom with respect to time management" was organised at PIM on 27th November 2015 at Prajna Hall.     Mr.Harikrishna Thodinnaya senior manager airtel was the resource person for the workshop.  He enlightened the students about the importance of time management in revenue generation of the telecom industry through various examples.  The programme was presided over by the Director of the institution Dr.M.R.Hegde .  Mr. Mohit S Patla and Ms. Sanjana Ninjoor students of 2nd year MBA conducted the programme.  The programme was attended by both first and second year MBA students of PIM.  

Craft does more than making a person happy. It provides certain physical benefits like stimulating the senses, lowering stress levels, strengthening hand-eye coordination; cognitive benefits like improving decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, planning comple tasks, visual- processing skills, increases attention etc; emotional benefits like opportunity to express oneself creatively, increases confidence, build perseverance and patience, appreciate completed craft etc. Considering the above benefits Women Empowerment cell of Poornaprajna Institute of Management conducted a Craft Training programme to the children of members of Kanakadasa    Seva Sangha, Udupi on November 16 th  2015. On 8 th November 2015, Adarsha Hospital organised an Arogya Mela for the benefit of the local community. As per the MOU, PIM received the invite and was happily accepted by the CSR club of PIM. 15 students of PIM along with faculty co-ordinator participated in the event.  Students helped in organising the programme.  The interaction of the students with the people opened their eyes towards the miseries and sufferings of common people. The programme thus was successful in sensitising the students to the health-related problems of the common man. They encouraged the local people to undergo the health check up and volunteered to get people from the surrounding areas.  

The HR club of Poornaprajna Institute of Management organized an extension program ‘MY SUCCESS STORY’ for the students of Udupi Zilla Kanakadasa Seva Samaja Trust on 2 nd November 2015 on BUILDING SELF CONFIDENCE. Objectives of the program: ·          To boost the confidence of the students. ·          To eliminate nervousness and stage fear ·          To help students communicate without inhibitions. Description/Report : The participants were given plain sheets individually and asked to write down their achievements and positive feats accomplished so far. The participants jotted down their success stories and also wrote down instances which made them proud and happy. The placement cell of PIM conducted the activity on  General knowledge  for the benefit of children of Kuruba community studying in the Volakadu school on29/10/2015.
