Entrepreneurship Awareness Programme and Felicitation of Shri Dayananda Rao
The Entrepreneurship Cell of Poornaprajna
College, Udupi in collaboration with PCRD and Karnataka Bank conducted Entrepreneurship
Awareness Programme to the students of PIM on 28th November 2019 at
Prajna Hall of PIM. The PIM also felicitated Shri Dayananda Rao, Karnataka
Rajyotsava Award Winner and CEO of Dairy Cooperative Society, Shankarnarayana.
To begin with, Dr Bharath, the Director of PIM
welcomed the dignitaries and sought the blessings of Shri Shri Vishwa Priya
Thirtha Swamiji. He explained in detail the significance of Entrepreneurship Cell
of PIM, and to combat the slowdown in the formal employment opportunities, our
students think of starting entrepreneurship Cell. Our students must cope up
with new technology, India has large number of young talents, we have demographic
liability, not demographic dividends. Recently, all the institutions have shouldered
the responsibility of imparting these skills.
Dr Krishna Kothai, the Coordinator of PCRD
mentioned that keeping in view of objectives, this program had been arranged.
It is imperative that everybody has to get job, within a short period, we have
to venture into employment world, at the same time the richest people of our
present world consist of entrepreneurs, Tatas, Birls, Ambani, Bill Gates, are
all emerged our of entrepreneurship venture. But to cope up this, we have to
equip ourselves with certain skills. You study these theoretical skills in the
class. Mr Karunakar Jain will impart these practical skills to you after this inaugural
function. He who does not work, neither shall he eat is a New Testament aphorism
originally by Paul the Apostle, later cited by John Smith in the early 1600s,
even Basavanna also believed, Kayakave Kailasa, One or other work, we have to
involve, our Swamiji and all of us strongly hope that every one of you must get
job, but we have to think other alternative, we can take horse to water, but it
is left to house whether to drink to water or not, hence, we thought of having
this programme today. Whether it is possible or not, that is left to you;
ultimately your success depends on your work.
We need to reconstruct the rural areas. We
always think about “Rural Reconstruction”, many people involved in the rural reconstruction,
Shri Dayananda Rao also one among them, hence, it is appreciating his commitment,
sincerity, honesty, integrity, not felicitating Dayananda Rao as an individual.
He is not interested in any awards. He expressed his close association with
Dayananda Rao. More than three decades ago, Dayananda Rao ventured as a result
of inspiration by Late TA Pai, he started with eight litres and now his unit
has exceeded the collection of more than 3500 litres of milk. Many of our
students and faculty got the opportunity of witnessing the revolution by
Dayananda Rao. Shankarnarayana is non-traditional dairy area. It is not usual
to practice animal husbandry. Artificial insemination, collective effort,
chilling unit, building, over three and half decades, he developed all these infrastructures,
Village has got all the facilities, but our national capital Delhi has got
acute climate-related problems. We celebrated the AMUL legendary two days back,
in Shankarnarayana Dayananda Rao done that work. He associated in all the
activities like Jaycees, Rotary and youth related ventures of Shankaranarayana.
Dr. Kothai, remembered, “ttare Sagani aade, tattidare Kurulaade Suttare nosalige Vibhooti aade Tattadee
hakidare melu Gobbaravaade Neenyaarige aadayo ele Maanava Hari Hari Govu Naanu”
Shri Dayananda Rao has done it.
Shri Shri Vishwa Priya Thirtha Swamiji,President of Admar Mutt Education Council dwelt in detail about the benefits of
starting entrepreneurship units by themselves after the completion of MBA.
Without any compulsion, one has to venture into work, He also explained the
contribution of “Housewife” for the developing nation, their services and
sacrifice should not be ignored. People should not sit idle, that is why, we
call “Udyaogam Purushlakshna”, You have to pray with Almighty to get desired
job. PCRD ventured to impart this expertise to our students. After MBA, some
may think of having animal husbandry, you may occupy the position of Shri
Dayananda Rao. He wished all the best to the programme.
ShriDayananda Rao while expressing thanks for felicitation, expressed his humility
and humble nature. Compared to all the felicitation, this facilitation is exceptional,
as this award is from Poornprajna Peeta. He explained in detail the condition
of Shankarnarayana 45 years back. He started with maiden effort, people were
not having money, they have to ask with their husband, now women are having
more than14 lakh in their account. The women of rural areas are sincere. Dr Verghese Kurien got
highest award, at that time he told, “the rural women are sincere, they are committed”
I started my service with a salary of Rs. 60. He thanked the PIM for this
initiative.
Dr Chandrashekar, Honourable Secretary of
Poornaprajna Institute of Management presided over the function and explained
the usefulness of programs of entrepreneurship to the students. He congratulated Shri Dayananda Rao and Dr
Krishna Kothai for this wonderful programme. Over the years, the objective of
MBA changes, When we started MBA, our objective was not to give placement opportunities.
There is ample employment opportunity, but most of them lack employment skills.
They are not exposed to important areas. You have to improve your employability.
Unless otherwise, you keep of improving your skills and communication, you
cannot reach the top. Preferably you have to excel two or three languages. Whatever
you do, do differently compared to others. Whatever you do, follow the ethics
in your life, to get you have to remember sustainability in your life. You have
to try to enhance level of motivation and level of confidence. You should have
self-motivation, it should not be imposed from outside. There is no
substitution for headwork in life. Swamiji founded 35 institutes, he has been
employing good people in the organisation. There is tough competition, you have
to love your work, your specialisation is inevitable, people are illiterate.
Apart from this, more important, useful to society. You should try to understand
the route cause. Any business must possess financial stability, Many entrepreneurs
have done exceptionally well, they did succeed in the academics, but they have
become excellent entrepreneurs.
Miss Fiona Rodrigues compered the programme,
while Mr Shubang proposed the formal vote of thanks. Later Mr Karunakar Jain
conducted the Entrepreneurship Development Programme. Miss Abja and party renderedthe prayer. The staff advisor of Entrepreneurship
Development Cell of PIM, Dr Bharathi Karanth, Associate Professor, coordinated the programme.
