Poornaprajna Institute of Management

An Industrial Visit was organized for the students of III semester of Poornaprajna Institute of Management on 07 th December 2019 to the Medium and Small Scale Industries of the Udupi district.   First and foremost, the students visited the Dakshina Kannada Co-operative Milk Producers Union Ltd, located in Havanje where the students witnessed an elaborate process of milk processing. The hi-tech production was explained very patiently by Mr Sadananda, the supervisor of the plant, who took the students across the newly inaugurated production unit. He elaborately provided information about the collection, heating, pasteurizing, maintenance, packing and finally distribution of the milk and the milk products. The students were also shown the latest automated technology which required minimum human intervention for milk processing. Dr Sureshramana Mayya, Dean, Poornaprajna Institute of Management conducted a Faculty Improvement Programme on the topic, “Technology and Faculty Development” to the faculty of SDM Post Graduate Centre for Management and Research on 7 th December 2019. In the one day the programme, he dwelt in detail technology imperatives, digital knowledge, digital natives, digital immigrants,   digital wisdom, how the views   advocated by Prensky, as to what extent the capacity of digital technology will help us to access cognitive power beyond our innate capacity and how the prudent use of technology is expected to enhance our capabilities. This was a unique programme at PIM. PIM invited the leading women entrepreneurs to interact with PIM Students and motivate them to think about starting off their own business. Ms. Shruthi G Shenoy, President of POWER, Ms Sona, Organising Secretary, POWER PARBA 2020, Ms. Lakshmi Rao, Treasurer, POWER and Dr Vijayedra of Dentacare of Udupi spoke on this occasion. Dr. Bharath, Prof. Santhosh Prabhu and Dr S Mayya were present on this occasion. They also have thrown light on POWER PARBA, an annual event which will be held at Udupi from 10th January to 12th January 2020  at Mahatma Gandhi Bayalu Ranga Mandira, Beedinagudde, Udupi.
