Emeritus Professor, Dr. Krishna Kothai gave a talk on intellectual property rights in the context of Indian agriculture, to the MBA students at the Poornaprajna Institute of Management on 11-2-2019.  He observed that though agriculture is the economic lifeline of India, it’s a contribution to the national economy is just 17-19% which is abysmally low compared to the population dependent on it. Obsolete methods of farming are one of the reasons for POOR agricultural production apart from others. Use of technology appropriate to agriculture is the need of the hour. New inventions and innovations are a must in the field of agriculture. It is here that intellectual property rights come in to play in the field of agriculture. A talk on Meditation was held at PIM, Udupi on 09-02-2019 to the members of Parent Teachers Association and faculty members of Poornaprajna Institute of Management. Mr Navaneeth Krishnan S, Lead, Lead Group Strategy, Manipal Group, Manipal conducted the session. He explained in detail about the philosophy of Heartfulness Meditation, which is a simple and subtle practice of meditation that connects each of us with the light and love in our hearts. The Parent Teachers Meet was held at PIM on 09-02-2019. A large number of parents attended the programme. This meet had the following objectives. 1.       To help the parents realize and understand their roles in promoting MBA Education 2.       To help the parents to understand the developments at PIM 3.       To seek parents cooperation and involvement in the Management Education at PIM On this occasion, Dr. Bharath, Director of the Institute explained in detail the developments at PIM.
